Gates Pitches Vista on the Daily Show

I can't open a blog without seeing something about Vista. Just look at PC World's offerings:

We also have two videos -- the first is How to Install Windows Vista. And maybe the more important of the two is How to Reinstall Windows XP

Bill Gates Is Pitching, Too

Unlike the days of Win 98 and XP, Bill Gates is hard at work shilling the latest OS everywhere he can. I honestly think he's worried that users just aren't nearly as excited about Vista as he'd hoped they'd be.

So Gates has hit many of the morning TV shows, and the other night he tried his pitch on Jon Stewart's The Daily Show.

Jon Stewart's funny (as usual) and even though some of Gates's lines sounded scripted, he might have actually ad-libbed a little. Watch the 9-minute video below.

Update: YouTube pulled the video. You can find it on the Comedy Central site. Scroll down to Bill Gates Part I and Part II.

Gates Doesn't Watch the Daily Show

As a Daily Show fan, it was apparent to me that Gates had never watched the show. What usually happens is that at the end of the interview, the audience applauds while camera zooms back, and the guest stays seated, chatting with Stewart. Not knowing the protocol, Gates got up and walked off stage.

But Stewart grabbed the opportunity, as you'll see in this next video.

Update: Unfortunately, this video was pulled and it's not available anywhere else on the Net.

I would have liked to watch the video; apparently I should have on February 1 or 2, as by the 5th this is what I got to see: "This video has been removed due to copyright infringement." Who was it removed by, and at whose request? Are they saying that Bill Gates pushing Vista on national television is OK, but replaying it to a somewhat smaller audience is copyright infringement?

I have a friend who could send me a copy on his iPhone, but unfortunately I have no way to call him (because he has an iPhone....)
