I was able to get a bunch of stuff into tomorrow's PC World Picks and Pans story. It's the spot where we give you short takes on some of the coolest, weirdest, and hottest products. (It's my favorite CES article; I'll send you the link tomorrow.)
I had a few more gems, but because of CES fatigue, I missed today's 6:00a.m. deadline (yes, you read that right). I'm also late with this posting.
Here are a few of the missed gems. You'll see the others tomorrow.
Tiny Remote Wields Big Power: Say you're sitting at a bar and getting really tired of the caphoney caphophoney capaphony racket from the TV. Pop out the R2-Mini Remote-n-Go, a tiny remote control (it's a little over an inch wide, by 2.5 inches long, and a half inch deep). In less than a dozen keystrokes, you can lower the volume -- or shut off -- every TV in the room. All that silence for about $10.

Most Obnoxious Marketing Gimmick at CES: The guitarist standing outside the Las Vegas Convention Center and alongside his VW, blasting everyone with his mind-numbing music. I couldn't get away fast enough -- and still have no idea what he was pitching. Smart work.
Sit Down and Start Exercising: Getting a little thick in the middle? Stick the PCGamerBike Mini under your desk, connect it to a USB port, and start cycling those pounds away. You can just pedal, but for more fun, use it to play any keyboard controlled game. For some real aerobics, pedal through Islands World, a bundled game. Me? I'm gonna go get another Coke.

What, we really need a SMALLER remote to make it even EASIER to lose???
cacophony; n.
1. A loud harsh or strident noise
2. Loud confusing disagreeable sounds
sure SOUNDS like a good idea; but, wait; I can't help but wonder what that big, drunk guy sittin' there suckin' up suds is gonna think when that commercial he's so into goes into lipreading mode?
