What's That Cable For?

I don't know about you, but I seem to have lots of cables floating around the office. Some are easy to identify -- USB, for instance. But some of the others are a mystery. If you're in the same boat, take a look at PC Interfaces 101 on TomsHardware.com

BTW, you know how you always stick the USB cable into your PC the wrong way? I've struggled with that for years and found the solution. It's so easy you'll wonder why you haven't figured it out yourself. As you start to put the cable into the port, immediately reverse the orientation, because you know the first time you try it's always the wrong way.

I know I should always follow my first idea-
it didn't work by turning it around.....you can't win no matter what ! :)

On the USB problem, I thought of inking one side, but it's still hard with vertical ports--and my memory.

Um, there is some method to the madness here. Grab the USB plug-- feel the little USB "tree" symbol molded into the plastic. Align that symbol with the "white toothed" side of the USB slot and it will go in. That's it!
