OneLook -- a Super Dictionary Site

Posted by Steve Bass | Thursday, December 15, 2005 1:00 AM PT

I recently wrote about new web search sites (see Nifty New Web Search Sites). Alex and others fired back with one really good site I missed. OneLook is, as Alex says, "the best damned dictionary site out there."

He's right.

Type a word or phrase into the search field and you'll get a slew of matches to dictionary sites ready to give you definitions.

You can add a small bookmarklet (a javascript) to your browser. [Thanks, David!] Fill in the word in the script pop-up box; the script will then automatically insert your word and open to the OneLook page.

For instructions, head for the site's About page and scroll to " Access OneLook Dictionary Search from any site."

BTW, check out Steve Kangas's site if you're intrigued with Bookmarklets.

Thanks for the info.
That's a great and fast way of finding word defintion and its meaning.
I've added it to my Linkshelf program of bookmark.
