The iTunes Phone: The Motorola Rockr

OK, now Steve is talking about the iTunes phone--Motorola's Rockr. It has an Apple-designed iTunes client, can hold 100 songs, and has a special iTunes button. You download music via USB cable from a Windows PC or Mac.
"It's an iPod Shuffle right on your phone," he says. And now he's demoing it.
Now he's getting a call, and showing that you can jump away from a song and then resume music playback. (He hits the wrong button--oops!)
Looks like a nice phone, but not a breakthrough by any means...let's see if there's any more news to come.
thanks for the updates... nothing earthshattering yet.
Can we get a pic?
Cingular.com has a pic on thier opening web page....

check cingular's website. it's right on the front page.
That phone on Cingular's site is very un-impressive. Looks 3 years old. I was expecting something sexier.
256MB of memory? And I'm locked into Cingular for two years? What a lousy product - I'm glad Apple's name isn't on this
Does it do OBEX? If not, it's worthless to me and (ironcally) NOT iSync compatible.
Also, you make such a big deal and you have only 100 songs capacity. I think motorola can do better that this in collobration with Apple
Would anyone be frank enough to say this phone is ugly, fat and already too little too late for apple. There are better phones out there with MP3 capability with camera and not tied to Apple iTunes.
I have the Nokia 3300 music phone. It has a music player AND a QWERTY keyboard. If I could tweak it a little I'd be happy. What's the big deal with the Rockr?
I have had this unit for a week now and despite it shortcomings as a full fledge Music Player, it is great. This replaced my cell phone, PDA, and MP3 player. Which I faithfully toted around with me everyday. I was intillay hesitant becuase I had ran out got the MPX-200, which is a smartphone, but it was a terrible phone. This is a phone first, which is the most important thing. I love the fact that when someone calls you and you are listening to music, that it pauses it so you can answer(have missed several calls because of this), then resume when you are done. The internal speakers are awesome, you can actually lay the phone down and listen with out the headphones on. To get your contact and appointments synched with your pc, I purchased the Motorola Mobile Phone tools off ebay for $10(should include with phone when u shell out $250) and it allows you to synch your contacts and appointments with Outlook, as well as xfer pics, ringtones, etc. I am having to charge it every other day, but having the charge one device is way better than 3. Email me if you have any specific questions and I would be happy to share my experience with this device. Its the best convergence device I have played with!!!!!
I tried hooking some powered speakers to the headphone jack (pc speakers and mini battery powered model) but no sound comes through.
Does anyone know what the deal is with that? If it'll play on headphones, why not speakers?
i got this fone and it is not much betta than an ipod if u already got a cellphone dont waste the time and money bying this wen u could just by an ipod and hold more songs than the fone...over all its a pretty kool idea but its no worth the money
How much does the phone cost?
Can you use your music as ringtones or do you still have to buy them? and also how do you delete songs?
I also had the nokia 3300 and despite its great mp3 features and usb campatiblity with my computer, the phone itself sucked. Every 3 weeks I had to buy a new faceplate or button pad because it wore so horribly. I bought this rockr only because I like my mp3s on my cellphone as my nokia had- i even bought the 512mb memory to hold more songs for my nokia phone, but in addition, without that nokia, i have no mp3 player, a shitty phone, and no camera.. Now i went online and bout all three in one... I can't see something wrong with that deal. Don't sign a contract.. ustronics.com - their phones are unlocked so any simcard works.. the phones are even cheaper than at the store as well....
I've had the E1 ROKR for over a month now and I have to say the phone is incredibly nice. I'm not sure what all these other people are complaining about. It's a phone first and foremost long before it's an mp3 player. Functionally it works great. Excellent layout on the keypad with easy to access menus. The camera wasn't important to me but it's a nice feature, nothing special there. The mp3 player is great considering that an mp3 player that totes 100 songs would cost you around $70+ anyway. B/T is amazing. It?s the first I?ve had it and I love it. I own a Logitech headset that I have zero issues with. I bought this phone from Cingular, which is a great carrier, for $150 and that included the extra 512MB memory card. Overall: great phone, excellent service and wonderful experience. Rock on Motorola!
PS. I?m still looking for ways to use the MP3s on the phone as ringtones w/o downloading them. Also working on a way to get my B/T headset to accept the iTunes music for wireless listening.
I'm also trying to figure out how to delete songs. If anyone can email me and let me know how that would be great! ckel1221@yahoo.com
does anyone know how to use the mp3s as ringtones for rokr?? I can't figure it out!!!
How to set MP3 as ringtone

anyone know how to delete mp3???
please reply!
thanks a bunch!
Regarding Motorola Rokr: How are songs deleted from the Rokr? I can't find an answer. Please help. Much thanks in advance. DP
man that really sucks that u can only set one mp3 as a ringtone at a time, i guess i'll have to stick to downloading free polyphonic ringones. All you have to do to delete songs is just connect it, open itunes highlight ur phone and clear it from ur phones playlist as u would any other play list (right click and clear)
if anyone figures out some magnificent ingenius way to cram more mp3s on there n use them as ringtones be sure to lemme know
PS: u can also send them via bluetooth to that same folder mentioned before its just a lot slower (like 5min per song approx.)
does anyone know how to get extra memory if you can email me at fnawesomewes@hotmail.com
How do I delete the itunes off this thing???
you cannot send anything but images and .3gp video over bluetooth. everything else gets you a "bad request" error.
does the motorla rockr e1 comes in two color?? does it have a black phone or white?? which one is the real motorola rockr with itunes
if y'all are interested in learning how to create your own MP3 ring tones and alarms clocks, i made a guide.
you'll need a free MP3 trimming program like MpTrim.exe to fit multiple rings onto the ROKR (who needs a 4 minute ring tone anyway?).

What is happening when the file you want to transfer is not dragging and dropping onto the phone icon? There is this circle with a line through it.
Whats the lateset motorola Rokr phone to come out?
Thanks,
Steve
when u cant drag and drop, u have to convert the file to AAC, itunes can do that for u by right clicking
