Sony doesn't get it. Just as a leopard can't change its spots and the new metallic blue version of Sony's PSP coming out on August 21 for the 20th anniversary of Madden NFL won't change much that's wrong with the PSP either. In conjunction with the PSP launch Sony and EA have also announced they will team to produce a $200 Madden NFL 09 PSP Entertainment Pack. The pack includes includes a copy of Madden 09, a UMD video called NFL: In Just One Play, a voucher to download "Beats" from the PlayStation Store and a 1 GB memory stick.
The bundle will be very popular with Maddenites everywhere. But for me this entertainment pack is the epitome of the PSPs shortcomings: it's all dressed up with nowhere to go.
Time to Punt?
Take a look at the Beats voucher in the new bundle. Beats is a very basic game where you blow up little orbs as they cross your path, and the game bases its movements on music stored in your PSP music library. Of course, to put a music collection on your PSP you need to go through a less than seamless, some would say cumbersome, process.
Then there are the constant color changes PSP has become famous for: blue, red, champagne and who can forget the white version for the Star Wars entertainment bundle?
Now it's metallic blue. Sorry Sony but a color change can't fix the machine's downsides. You can't download movies or any other premium video content through the PlayStation store, and Sony recently did away with the Sony Connect music download service. Sure you can download games, but the selection is limited and the most popular titles that are retro PS One games.
Sony recently introduced a feature to transfer Blu-ray discs to your PSP, but you need a PS3 to do it. Instead of constantly changing the PSPs look and forcing customers into Sony's proprietary box, the electronics maker should consider increasing the machine's support and interoperability with non-Sony products. Now that would be something to get excited about.

Huh? You have to be kidding. You plug your PSP into your PC and drag and drop your music files in Windows Explorer. That's it. It's much easier than getting music on an iPod. What method are you using?
Yes you can download tv shows and movies to you psp through the ps store you can also rent movies just like Itunes then it is very easy to put music onto a psp it is just like any basic mp3 player you drag the files to the music folder on the memory stick how have you been doing it so in conclusion you are an ididot
