There were tons of impressively over-the-top booths on the show floor at CES 2008, showcasing everything from mammoth HDTVs to ridiculously pimped-out cars. So what does it take to really stand out on the show floor?
If the number of people doing double-takes and stopping to look at Technosonic's modest set-up in the South Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center is any indication, all it takes is a little creativity when it comes to the classics.
The Ontario, Canada-based Technosonic was showing off its lineup of retro-looking audio hardware with modern components -- Gramophone-style turntables and old Empire AM/FM radios that also house CD players, tabletop diner jukeboxes with CD players, and a turntable that converts audio from vinyl records and transfers the digital audio to USB-connected devices or memory cards without the need for a computer.
Technosonic President Franklin Wong took me on a video tour of Technosonic's retro-futuristic booth. In the video, he also possibly sets the world record for most acronyms dropped in a three-minute period. Take a look.
