Roxio Releases New Backup Software

Roxio announced it would be offering a refresh of its BackOnTrack 3 Suite of backup and system recovery features. Roxio says the software uses a three-prong approach to helping protect your files against a system crash. The Instant Restore feature helps recover from a full-blown system failure, even if you've been hit by a virus. The Disaster Recovery component lets you save a copy of your chard drive to an external drive for use in an emergency. The File Backup component will do scheduled backups of your files by type (ie photos, videos, documents, or music), copying those files to a variety of media--including hard drives, CD, DVD, Blu-ray Disc, and HD DVD.

The program's support for high-capacity, recordable Blu-ray Disc and HD DVD media support is notable, as this remains a rarity among backup software applications.
