Apple Limits Customers to Two iPhones Friday

Apple stores will stay open until midnight Friday June 29 to accommodate an expected onslaught of iPhone customers. Apple also says customers can purchase up to two iPhones on June 29 on a first come, first served basis starting at 6 p.m. when the iPhone goes on sale.

AT&T Wireless stores, the only other retailer selling the iPhone, will only be open until 10 p.m. Friday night. A number of AT&T Wireless stores contacted say they will limit the sale of iPhones to one per person.

All 164 Apple retail stores will keep new summer hours opening early 9 a.m. starting June 30 to accommodate iPhone sales. For those worried your local retail store is out of iPhone stock, Apple says you can check iPhone availability at your local Apple retail store online starting at 9:00 p.m. the night before at a special Apple Web page set up for checking retail store stock. Unclear is whether the Apple Web page will have stock information before the June 29 iPhone launch date.

Additionally, starting this weekend Apple says it will begin free iPhone workshops so: "customers can learn how to get the most out of the iPhone."
