Coming to License Plates: Scrolling Expletives!

Think road rage is bad now? Just wait until everybody who feels wronged on the highway can send a little message to the driver they're angry with.

Roadmaster is introducing two ways for you to express yourself in your automobile, a Scrolling Digital License Plate Frame and a Rear Deck Mssage System. They imagine people using the devices to send messages like "Hello" or "Turning left". I'm sure some people will, but years of commuting frustration lead me to believe they'll also be used for less friendly messages along the lines of "Hey ****head, if you're going to follow that close, why don't you just sit in the back seat?" or "Yo, that stick by the steering wheel -- it's called a turn signal!"

The potential to stoke motorized mayhem seems limitless to me, not to mention the fact that composing and controlling messages with the included wireless remote may not be the optimal use of the driver's time and attention.
