Project Management Software Maps Your Mind

AEC Software adds integration with brainstorming tools to its cross-platform project management software FastTrack Schedule. Version 9.1, released last week, comes with a plug-in for Mindjet MindManager, which organizes and links ideas in a visual organizational-chart type format. You will have to purchase MindManager separately. A single-user version of MindManager Basic 6 costs $229. FastTrack Schedule 9.1 also supports Apple iCal .ics calendar files and opens Microsoft Project files. (Updated on 10/24/06 at 11:54am PDT.)

The main draw of this software is its cross-platform capability. AEC Software says that FastTrack Schedule customers are 50 percent Mac users and 50 percent PC users. FastTrack Schedule 9.1 costs $349 for new users and is a free upgrade for people already using version 9.
