Last month, McGruff the Crime Dog announced that he was taking a bite out of cybercrime. Today, the National Crime Prevention Council officially unveils his Web site, which educates kids and parents about spyware, phishing, and other Web-related threats. For example, there are security checklists for protecting the home user, home user with kids, business user, and mobile user.
Although the site went live on Monday, McGruff will kick off its official launch by ringing the 4pm closing bell of the NASDAQ stock exchange. You can view the festivities here starting at 3:45 EDT. (You'll need Windows Media Player.) If you happen to be attending the DigitalLife consumer electronics trade show in New York next week, you can met McGruff in the fur at the Intel booth.
