The unit has a comfy 17-inch widescreen display, with WUXGA (1920 x 1200) resolution and Sony's Xbrite Hi-Color LCD technology. It also has a built-in camera for video conferencing, and HDMI output.
This entertainment-centric system ships with Microsoft Windows Media Center Edition 2005 and a built-in standard-definition NTSC TV tuner.
Sony will ship the unit with a Blu-ray Disc edition of
House of Flying Daggers, as well as an HDMI cable so you can easily connect the laptop to your display.
Separately, Sony has also announced its first VAIO desktop PCs with Blu-ray Disc recorders. The Media Center-based desktops will start at $2249, and will have configurations with a dual-core Pentiums CPU, up to 2GB of memory, an NTSC TV tuner, and HDCP-enabled DVI (but not HDMI) output.
What Sony has unveiled here is the future of computig; a bit dear but worth every penny. with the new family of VAIO, computing possiblities are endless.
Pull your tongue out of Sony's crack, Philip. Dogs do that.
