The video--shot and edited by PCW's Danny Allen--is now hosted on Google Video and is working a treat, so take a look and let us know what you think!
Nintendo got off to a flashy start at its E3 event at the lush Kodak Theatre, home to Academy Awards. Now you can watch the video or read over our live commentary from Tuesday.
The stage show is a well-coordinated display of lights and video--and enthusiastic Nintendo reps evangelizing about the future--all delivered to a crowd of 3000.
They've offered few specifics on the
Wii--the company's upcoming console--so far. Nintendo is still mum on the ship date and price, but has confirmed that Wii is coming in the forth quarter of 2006. They've also confirmed that 27 games will be on display at the show (though how many of these might be available at launch was not discussed).
In spite of sidestepping the price issue, Reggie Fils-Aime, chief marketing officer at Nintendo enthuses, "You'll get more fun for less money." Presumably, this statement infers that the Wii will sell for less than its competitors from Microsoft and Sony.
The slogan today is playing = believing. Much of this believing revolves around the immersive experience that the Wii's new motion-sensitive controller will provide. The rectangular controller is starkly simple in its design--an approach that Nintendo president Satoru Iwata believes will be vital to achieving Nintendo's mission with the Wii.
"Our goal is to expand the total number of people playing games," says Iwata. "To do this, we needed to target gamers who played and had lost interest, as well as those who have never played."
The one-handed design of the new controller, adds Iwata, "breaks down the barrier for non-gamers. The most difficult job is to approach people who have never played before."
At launch, Nintendo plans to have baseball, golf, and tennis games available, all of which take advantage of the new controller's ability to translate physical motions into game actions.
The controller is wired (unlike Sony's
newly-announced Bluetooth motion-sensitive controller). Unique to Nintendo's controller is the ability to provide the movement, or depth, to sounds you'll encounter in gameplay. This is thanks to its integrated speaker: You'll hear sound travel from the remote to the TV as you shoot an arrow or gun, for example.
The event included several game demos--including The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess, which will ship at the same time as the Wii launches.
Most interesting to me was the lack of discussion about what kind of storage medium Wii will use, and the talk by Fils-Aimes that Nintendo's position is "what's hot is the feel of the game, not what it looks like.
Indeed, from the clips shown, that is Nintendo's tactic. The games for Wii that audiences had a glimpse at still looked very cartoony, and very much like a video game; they lacked the photorealism exhibited by Sony PlayStation 3 at
yesterday's preview event.
Umm...dude! Get your facts straight! The Wii controller is wireless also.
Jeeze I expect more from PC World
P.S. You didn't mention anything about Wii Connect 24...
If you're going to say they divulged few details maybe you should include all of the details that they did divulge!
I love how Nintendo is banking on the gimmick of the controller.....and Sony just quietely included it as a feature.
Stick a fork in Nintendo, they're done. Once you have to rely on gimmicks to sell your system....gimmick that other systems have none the less, it's time to die.
Define gimmick?
It isn't a gimmick...its a an interesting innovation that changes how video games are played. Appreciate the technology for what it is and don't give into your fanboyism.
Don't bother calling me a fanboy because I own a PSP and use my PC for all other games. Still the Wii has be intrigued.
Apparently Sony thinks Nintendo is on the right track seeing that they decided to include a similar feature on their own controller.
You know what?
If "a downloadable library of more than 20 years of my favorite Nintendo games" and "not 500 f***ing dollars" are also gimmicks, consider me duped.
It's a gimmick because it's been around for years. It's not innovative by any means of the word. It's a gimmick because Nintendo lives in a fantasy world that believes innovation is releasing decade old features as their main selling point, that people still think 64bit (quality) graphics are mind-blowing, and there is no need for more than A and B.
Ya
i agree with glocks out
Everything Nintendo does is a gimmick nowadays. They build their systems around one uber "innovative" feature and tout it as the best thing since sliced bred. Notice how Sony didn't go "OMG SUPER INNOVATIVE CONTROLLER" with the PS2. Rather, it's focusing on the system itself. The controller is exactly that, a peripheral. And really, it isn't innovative at all. I've played Baseball, Tennis, and Golf games with a controller like that before. And I seem to remember Nintendo themselves had this idea. Anyone remember the "Power Glove"? Thank you very much.
The PS3 is defiantly overpriced, but I can't look past the gimmicks Nintendo tries to sell me.
The Press conference was absolutely awesome, it's gonna be fun to the extreme!
just remember, without nintendo, you morons wouldn't have your precious xbox or crapstation
Um, I think the new controller is going to be a bit better than the power glove. That is like comparing mp3 technology to 8-tracks. I think they made it a bit better... considering the power glove was out over 15 years ago.
My power glove RULED, my Rumble Pack Ruled, my GameBoy with Tetris Ruled, My SNES smashed on the Genesis, more colors better graphics, My N64, Smashed on the PS1. My GameCube well I traded that for an xbox to Mod. But this WII sounds like a buy. oh yeah my GBADVANCE yeah that Rules too.
1. The PS3 controller is nothing like the Wii controller. The PS3 controller senses motion. The Wii controller does that and senses the direction and position of the controller. There is a HUGE difference.
2. The power glove was not made by Nintendo. It was made by Mattel.
3. The power glove sucked and only detected when you rolled the glove and the position of your fingers.
The Wii controller is wireless. The only wire is the "nunchaku" attachment (the analog stick) which attaches via a wire but still isn't attached to the console.
As for the gimmicks -- the motion/tilt sensing is much more sophisticated in the Wii than in the PS3, and will change gaming in a more profound way.
It's different, but Nintendo has said many times they're not out to be anything like the PS3 or Xbox. It doesn't mean that good-old gamepad play is dead, but Nintendo is offering something new.
Remember, Nintendo was the first to create console controllers with vibrations, analog sticks, shoulder buttons... They do new things. Some are risks, yes - but some risks pay off for everyone.
First - nothing wrong with "Cartoony Graphics". Some people like Cartoons, others like movies, and a great many like both.
Also - Personally, I'm tired of hearing opinionated comments about any system.
Nintendo is "banking" on gameplay, not a controller. Gameplay is a portion of video games that has been sorely neglected in the past 15-20 years. I think it was last really updated when systems started having more than one button and a single joystick on their controllers.
Sony is "banking" on a kick-ass processor. If it can actually do what IBM claims it can in those technical readouts, I'm going to be a convert to the architecture.
Nintendo made a stupid move in calling it Wii, in replacement of Revolution. Come on, who wants to say "Want to come over and play on my Wii?"
Sony is at it again. Telling us how awesome it is and not producing results. Before E3, they kept touting their new Boomerang controller, which I am relieved to say they seem to have gotten rid of. They also bragged about it's other features. I don't give a damn about other features, I buy a system to play video games. Finally, at E3, I saw a nice display of video game graphics. Looks are great, but if it isn't fun, I don't want it.
I'll probably be buying a Wii, denouncing it's name of course, and waiting until the PS3's price drops. I just don't have the projected 400-500 needed to buy it in my budget. Besides, Sony, unlike Nintendo, but like to Microsoft, has a history of bad first 3 or 4 models.
Microsoft is another story, which I will not touch or this will turn into a book. >.> <.<
4. A new 8-track tape in a good player would almost certainly sound better than an MP3 at 128kbps.
Renaming the revolution the Wii was an amazing marketing strategy. Think about it- what were people talking about after it was announced. The Wii, I'm gonna tak a Wii, WII WII WII! Free publicity! It's like having every gamer in america as a billboard! The Wii was on people's minds, not the 360 or the PS3.
actually, i bet most people will just call it playing nintendo.
also people seem to think the mtion sensitive technologies in the two are the same where theyre actually nothing alike
the wii uses a fixed reciever that constantly recieves information about the LOCATION of the controller and where it is point ON THE TV
the ps3 controllers has its motion sensor in the controller and it transmits the MOVEMENT of the controller and cannot tell what it is pointing at
this means while with the ps3 you can jerk the controller to juke in a footbal game, you cannot use it to throw the ball to where you point on the screen. or use it as a sword, or a (light) gun
also the ps3 controller will use a gyroscope, as in a constantly spinning wheel, inside of a wireless controller... *cough*lowbatterylife*cough* (for reference the wii's controller does NOT use a gyroscope)
by the way, didnt sony diss nintendo's motion sensor? and the ds's touch screen? and xboxs internet capabilities? and rumble packs? and analogue sticks? hmm, seeing a trend?
and also the power glove was nothing like this, it felt finger movements and used them as buttons
and no sony didnt go crazy about the controller, because it was their competitors idea that the dissed. however they did go "OMG SUPER SHINY HIGH DEFINITION GRAPHICS" yet their $500 system version wont even have high definition support, are you saying that is innovative?
oh yeah and the ps2 controller was not innovative at all, look at the difference between it and the ps1's.
gimmick - In American English, a gimmick is a unique or quirky special feature that makes something "stand out" from its contemporaries. Product gimmicks are sometimes considered mere novelties, and not really that relevant to the product's functioning, even earning negative connotations. However, some seemingly trivial gimmicks of the past have evolved into useful, permanent features."
peripheral - A peripheral is a type of computer hardware that is added to a host computer in order to expand its abilities. More specifically the term is used to describe those devices that are optional in nature, as opposed to hardware that is either demanded, or always required in principle.
The term also tends to be applied to devices that are hooked up externally, typically through some form of computer bus like USB. Typical examples include joysticks, printers and scanners. Devices such as monitors and disk drives are not considered peripherals when they are not truly optional, and video capture cards are typically not referred to as peripheral because they are internal devices.
are you caiming to have the ability to play a home game-system without a controller? a controller is NOT a peripheral as it is required to operate the console.
name a game you have played with something like that.
nintendo also will include a speaker in the controller which can be defined as an innovative feature, therefore it does not revolve around one "uber" feature
game graphics are created by the software and limited by the hardware, uber graphics are only available to companies willing to spend millions on it. the GC was capable of the great RE4 graphics. so why didnt all GC games have those graphics? THEY ARE EXPENSIVE TO MAKE! dont suddenly expect all ps3 and all xbox360 graphics to be incredible.
I'll take an immersive, intuitive gaming experience over a same-old shooter/driving/fighting/sports game any day of the year. Let's face it, all MS and Sony are doing is putting prettier colors, better sound and more rediculous support functions we'll never take full advantage of on the same old tired product. Where is the innovation? Where are the NEW products? They are all under the big N's tent and frankly as an old-school gamer (Yeah, I was rockin' dragon warrior and Duck hunt ALL the time on my NES in between rounds of tempest on my calecovision! lol) I get into games because they are enjoyable. I own a PS2, GC, N64, Dreamcast, and a ton of older systems that are still lying around somewhere from over the years and I own FUN games. I don't care about how realistic an explosion looks because let's face it, it's the same explosion we've all seen in countless other games. I say people should at the VERY least, keep an open mind as if it's sucessfull, you'll se MS and sony versions of it within another 3 years and all you haters will be griping about Nintendo's next innovation all over again. Give it up and keep an open mind, this system will at the very least be an interesting novelty if not an awesome platform and you don't have to buy it if you don't like it!
Thank you internet community for preventing me from snapping after reading this biased and INFORMATIONALLY INNACURATE article ("The controller is wired (unlike Sony's newly-announced Bluetooth motion-sensitive controller)"). And thank you PC World for reminding me why I canceled my subscription.
There, I said it
--Eric
Nintendo fanboy and PROUD OF IT!
P.S.
The maturity level here is apalling.
--Eric
the maturity level cannot be apalling when it is non-existant.
This article seems a little under researched. The Wii controller isn't wired. All pictures of the Wii controller clearly show it has no physical attachment to the console. Also, Sony don't have motion sensing in their controller - just tilt technology - the difference is quite significant, we're talking pixel-perfect 3D space vs. a simple "detech which angle the controller is being held at". It is unrealistic to liken the two.
crap facts PC world
Will Playstation ever get pass a new better controller and system design, shit. they have had the same controller since the late 90's. and for all you sex box and claymation supports your not gamers youll go for anything with that looks more expensive than you could afford. How dare they call themsleves consoles there entertainment systems Nintendo is the only remaining true gaming console, Fony and MicroCrap never had a history to begin with.
And the PSP what the fuck is that! Hello its a portable movie player THATS ALL!!
w
I am SICK of keyboards and game pads :))
I MUST TRY THIS CONTROLLER!!!
Imagine Boxing , Golf, Basketball, Fishing, Freesbies, Food Fest ! Anything!
I am excited!
''wii'' what a sh*t name. revolution is 100 times better!!!
I think that Nintendo is a marketing genius. It's just like what The One True Mango said, we're all talking about the Wii and it's new wireless controller. I don't see a site for PS3 or XBOX fans to comment on!! :P
Sony and Microsoft can kiss my a$$. I mean just because they can't come up with anything as good as the Wii, doesn't mean that they can say that their damn PS3 and XBOX are soooo much better! ****!!!
I would like to point out that my earlier comment about the name "Wii" wasn't always the same. When I first heard about it, I was pissed off. But after a while, I noticed how much spotlight the console was getting for the name. I then decided that Satoru Iwata was not as stupid as I had originally thought.
Also, Twilight Princess is going to KICK HALO + MGS4'S ASS!!!!! (no offence to the fans of the games. I'm just saying that Link could take Snake and what ever the hell the other guys name is down with his hands tied behind his back.)
Bottom line: Nintendo is innovative and focuses on good gameplay to please customers. Sony is unoriginal and relies on graphics to sell games. Nintendo: Keep up the good work, nice innovations. Silly choice for a name but oh well.
Sony: Nice graphics, but doing what you say you'll do is nice too. Aslo, try not to rip off the competition, it usually ends in a bad product
For all you who say the controller is a gimmick, you're all morons. I would much rather have a controller which immerses the player in the game more than "photo realistic" graphics that attempt but fail to do the same thing. And by the way, for all you Sony fans out there, notice how the PS3 is totally ripping off the Revolution controller (I refuse to call it Wii), yeah, that pretty much excludes you guys from this argument. Your system is just a hardware upgrade from the old PS2 and will still have the same faults as the PS2: fine hardware but no games to back it up...now I could sit here and drool over hardware all day and not play any decent games with your $500-$600 dollar piece of equipment (read as "shit"), but as is, I'm not that much of an idiot. Oh, and Blu-Ray is dead!
Simple math equation for you here:
Lower price + total game immersion + over 20 years of games at launch + no shitty proprietary hardware = much better system than the PS3
Anyone who thinks the PS3 will even compete is mistaken...If I want hardware like that to play games with I will buy a few upgrades for my PC and get much better games...and hell, I can even read e-mail of the damn thing! Not that I'm sure Sony didn't consider adding that when building the PS3...
As for the X-Box crowd, I like the 360. I probably won't buy one, but I think that the system is very solid and the price is at least acceptable.
Just to add to the innovations made by the big N, rumble. Can we name a controller we use today w/o it (well.. Wavebird... but... w/e). Nnty revealed their Rumble Pak for the N64, but b4 they had released it, Sony copied it with Dualshock controllers.
Sony wants to be you entertainment system (TV, Stereo, Computer, Mp3, DVD, and in their spare time.. Games)
Nintendo wants to make games... thats it. With all their focus on games, instead of a wide range of media to concentrate on (and 20+ years of experience), how can anyone else make anything better.
hey.. Snake is in Super Smash Bros. and the gfx are great, and they still want to polish them up. haha.. take that.
(take what, a cheaper system with improved functionality resulting in a deeper immersion in gaming... OK!)
nintendo is godly compared to the ps3. like come on the ps3 (as mentioned numerous times b4) dissed nintendo and is now taking that ."gimmick" (wut a load of sh*t!). o and btw, i got a 360 on launch and i aint had a single problem w/ it, so all u who think its crap can blow a buffalo!
o and i must add, sony shudnt diss microsoft until they release a better console. and yeah they should keep their promises too cuz ps3 wuz gonna be out by now. psps are wicked too, i am using mine for this post!
i cant wait to play this it will be so fun
Maybe the Japanese sales figure is a poor indication to how a product will sell in the rest of the world (considering how they are more open to new ideas and the difference in their culture) but DS have destroyed PSP in term of sales figures. This proves that innovative gameplay and fun player-to-console interaction underlines a systems success.
Some people might think Nintendo have over emphasize on the new control systems but I really don't see how they could do it otherwise. The combination of motion-sensor and speaker on controller is an intregal part to the system's new gameplay strategy. I mean imagine DDR down-playing its foot buttons, it just wouldn't make any sense. If Nintendo were to have this controller without the games to go with it then I would agree that it's a bells and whistle and that its all for show. Instead, Nintendo is trying to maket a "new" way of playing computer games at home (I know there is nothing "new" about it since motion sense has been done in the arcades for years!). For a guys who have been a fan of computer games since the first Gameboy and have since then tired of the numerous rehash of the same thing over and over, I am actually quite excited in the new direction Nintendo is taking.
I am just prayering to the digital gods that LucasArt will have the sense to port a Jedi Knight game over to Wii! Being able to wield a lightsaber with the motion sensor! Come on! Its a no brainer!!!!!
Nintendo Wii pwns. PS3 is expensive and brings nothing new to the table, and X360 is pretty cool also.
The REVOLUTION ( I also refuse to call it the wii) should be pretty good, but i am still pissed about the fact that they had to delay Zelda TP for this long because of it. They should have released a gamecube version like a year ago, then put some time into actually making real improvents on the REVOLUTION version ( not just control scheme and very minor graphic adjustments. I CAN'T WAIT ANY LONGER FOR Twilight Princess! It better be the best f*ckin' game I have ever played after this long of a wait! AHHHHHH!
I agree wholeheartedly with ZeldaFreak!! I mean, what the hell was up with that delay? As long as they're making TP better, I can live with the wait... but only for so long!!!
Viva La Revolution!!!
I just cant wait for red steellllllllllllllll
not to defend sony or anything i own a psp and it is definately more than just a portable "movie player"
At least Nintendo is trying something new. All Ps3 and 360 seem to do is have better graphics and online. Thats it. Im not spending $600 for little improvements, I want something thats really better. The graphics on 360 just aren't as big as a leap from PS1 to PS2, and I dont think it would be worth it to spent so much and get so little. Nintendo has a great concept that seems like its going to be supported by REALLY great games (Twilight Princess, Super Smash Bros Brawl, Super Mario Galaxy). Viva La Revolution!!!
I almost forgot. PSP's can also listen to music. Wait, what's an iPod again?
Speaking of ps3 not changing the controller looks exactly the same as the ps1 dualshock controller, except its black (big deal) and it doesnt have rumble. Im not paying more to get less, no ty.
mkay, just to clarify, psp has blown away ds and xbox sales combined! and yeah its way more than just movies too
I agree with greg. Paying more so you can get a wireless controller that can - oooooh! - detect 6 directions... this controller will be good for, hmm... flight sims and racing games. okay, maybe not the racing games.
And doesn't have the rumble. I think not.
I'm all for the Wii. And if you don't like the name, who really cares? Call it whatever you like! Just play the damn thing, because it is AWESOME.
I'm a little confused. It says in the article that the graphics for the games we've seen thus far for the Wii are "cartoony." I wouldn't really consider games like Metroid Prime 3, Red Steel, or Necro-Nesia to be "cartoony." Sure, WarioWare, Mario, and Smash Bros Brawl are cartoony but I don't think it?s necessarily representative of anything (even if it were, it doesn't matter).
I find it funny too that the way people discount the processor power on the Wii that they make it sound like the graphics are going back a step. Places like IGN talk about Wii being 3-4 times more powerful than the Gamecube, not realizing the GC was more powerful than the PS2 and almost matched the XBox thanks to more efficient processor architecture. Ever see Resident Evil 4 on GC? Then ever see it on PS2? If not, try playing both versions; you might be suprised. Here's the point: while the Wii isn't as strong as either the 360 or the PS3, it is still leaps and bounds over the previous gen of consoles.
Finally, remember kids, that the Wii will not be using the motion sensor and gyro sensor (yes, there is a tilt sensor in the nunchuck attachment) in all games on the system. Smash Bros Brawl will NOT be played with the Wii-mote. While Nintendo hinted at using a GC controller to play SSBB with (recalling the system houses 4 GC controller ports and 2 GC mem cart ports, all nicely hidden with the top flap), they love marketing new gadgets for their consoles so I'd wager we'll be playing with the "classic controller" they announced at E3. And of course, we all know software houses too lazy to do anything but a port will either utilize the classic controller or the GC controller. So, it isn?t like you have to play every game like you do for Red Steel or WarioWare.
So, don?t discount Nintendo. I, personally, will buy a Wii first and a PS3 down the road, since I?d imagine it will have a price drop sooner or later (like the Dreamcast did after launched, not to say it?ll pull a Dreamcast).
Oh, one more thing. The DS STILL outsells the PSP 4-1. This is thanks to reaching out to an audience outside of the hardcore gamer demographic. Try doing a little research before spouting. While this might change with the second wave of PSP titles coming out, it might not since games aimed at that same core demographic will be coming out at the same rate for the DS. Seems like the DS is a shining example of Nintendo?s new marketing strategy at work.
listen up people, the sony ps3 will be the best. ps2 sold more then xbox and gamecube combined. ok?
Nintendo definatly has something good with that controller and overall leap in how games are played, while the PS3 will basically be overpriced and banking on several features that may or may not become mainstream at all (cough* blueray* cough).
I believe Sony is putting all its chips in the barrel here, and its risky. The market the've defined is small due to the price and how game producers will percieve its small market and approach it much more cautiously. Nintendo's approach to appeal to a much broader market is probably what will make the new Wii the most sucsessful system to date. The X-Box 360 probably came out on the market a bit soon, and will probably be planning to add a few new controllers/accessories to help boost its marketing spectrum when the Wii and PS3 comes out.
Its definatly gonna be a golden time for gamers of all ages as each console is trying to specilize in specific areas
Motion sensing is also different from a light gun. They've used light guns in the arcades for years, but NOT a motion sensor. This is new technology...light guns can't be used w/ hdtvs because of the different framerates, but the motion sensor works differently so it will work on any tv. This is something that has never been used in games, which is why at first people were a little sceptical of how well it would work and if there would be any lag time associated with it. As we found at E3, there was no lag time and if anything the technology worked too well (the software may have to compensate for just how sensitive the controller is, but that's better than it not being sensitive enough). Also while Sony is using the same marketing strategy as with the PS2, no one knows if blu-ray will catch on. Remember what moved PS2s even before there was software support? The fact that it could play dvds out of the box made it sell in a time when a dvd player cost just a little less than what a PS2 costed. It seems to me that if blu-ray becomes the new standard for high def dvds, Sony will thrive...if not, Sony may be in big trouble because that will no longer be a reason to get a PS3. Microsoft is conservatively betting on the success of hd-dvd by making an add-on, so if you don't want it you don't have to pay for it. The catch 22 is that if hd-dvd does catch on, it won't be a huge factor in moving 360s (an hd dvd player currently costs about the same as a high-end 360, so unless the add-on is less than $200 there won't be a big spike in 360 sales). See, there are lots of factors that this next gen of consoles are hinged on, and some of the major ones aren't even related to gaming as far as Sony and Microsoft are concerned. The interesting thing about the Wii is now both Sony and Microsoft reps have endorsed it as "the must-get second console." I'll be interested in seeing how everything unfolds, since we'll know how it all goes down come January '08 ('07 will be the first holiday season with all three consoles for sale at once).
What the hell is up with the PS3? You can buy a $600 version with all the features (gimmicks for all those Wii fans) or you can buy a $400 version without the features. Who does that!?
At least the Wii will be inexpensive and come with all the features. (Plus the @$$ kicking Zelda game!!)
My friend has been dogging me about a comment I made on another site about the Wii. I said that any hardcore gamer would never play a console called "Wii" and be able to tell people about it. (this was when the name was new) I just want to see how many people at this site think there is anything funny about the term "hardcore gamer" My friend seems to think its the funniest thing in the world. :(
To this friend I will always be known as the hardcore gamer.......... Kinda has a ring to it, ya know?
You guys are ALL sad losers. Go out and get a girlfriend or something. Gaming is NOT real. Neither is Santa. Oh dear..
Woohoo Nintendo is shinning once again. I've been waiting for this moment 4 ages so I can finally say to all u all Sony and Xbox fanboys......... Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!! In your FACE!!!! Say what u want. Because of E3 I can just laugh at whatever u say. Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!! So this is what it felt like to be a Sony fan of the past. Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!
And as for PC world. U suck. Get ur shite str8 n stop ****ing Sony A**. Makes ur site look pathetic. Just like Gamespot. Another site in denial Muahahahahahahahaha!!!!
wow...this makes me laugh, ppl arguing about consoles! hahaha! every1s got their own taste in games...but just to save me missing out, im gettin all 3! and psp has more sales than ds and xbox combined! recent stats clarify this
Nintendo ain't $**t and has not been since the first Mario. PS3 will be better. Nintendo gamers are gay. They made the controller for the Wii like that so that you nintendo gamers could shove them up your A** and control the game.
Look at the playstation 3 controller... it has all the same buttons as one and two... your just playing the same games over and over again, they are just looking better... and for "LetMeHitThat" look at the PS3's boomerang controller its like that so you can stick one side in your @$$ and one in your artificial cha-cha you got when you switched from straight to gay... and by strait to gay i mean Nintendo to Sony
The Wii looks like a really big step into what things might be like in the future- my only question is- how is it connected to the internet, and what types of all the old games can you play (like is there a drive for the GC games, and a slot for the 64 games) I'm just confused on how this 20years worth of games is going to work.
I was also sceptical of the controller and the coordination, but it looks like its going to be confortable as well as easy to use.
I bought a GC for ZTP, but even though I'm buying a Wii and ZTP for that, GC is still way better than PS2 in regards to the controllers, graphics and loading time(especially loading time)
VIVA LA REVOLUTION.. wiiiiiiiiii
All of you who say that any of the given systems "SUCK" are foolish and very naive. However, I have pesonally been a Nintendo fan forever, most assuredly because of their more original games and concepts. By the way, LetMeHitThat, putting down any of the side-scroller classic Mario games is a terrible mistake. To do such is to make most readers disregard your comments. You should know that the Mario series is THE most famous and world-renowned set of games of all time. PERIOD.
Anyway, I really like the new controller concept, and the way Nintendo is continuing with the DS-like tradition of having the Wii double as two systems. I can't wait either to get Twilight Princess and download Majora's Mask (which I never beat before selling)!
Cant wait till Wii and TP!!!!
is gonna rock sooooooo hard!
I think the wii will be a good and entertaining system that will kick sony and and microsofts a$%.The only thing the PS3 offers is better graphics(wow) and a gay a#% controler.Although i like the 360 (oversized ipod.)By the way, whomever the f#?%%#$ morons are who say that the PSP (ipod rippoff) sold more than the DS need to realize that the PSP games suck (except for GTA san andreas.)I say this because i have a PSP!!!!
Anybody know if Sonic The Hedghog will be on the revolution (wii is not a very good name.)
LetMeHitThat was right. I feel out of the grace of Nintendo after the first Mario. "Matthew the Beast" is gay and would like to stick the funny Wii controlller in HIS fake twat like the tampon that it resembles. Have fun playing those crappy games with your fake pooooseeee.
i think the wii rocks due to the fact you can use the "remote" style controller for zelda and use the new ordinary controller for madden 07 or pro evo 6 its gunna be great.
whats the difference between the PS3 and Xbox 360?.........huh?not much. Now what is the difference between the Wii and the other 2?.........yeah thats what i thought.AHA!!!!
Oh this is funny.....hey GUIDO SANCHEZ,im thinking your a sony dude right? and I also guess you will get the PS3 right? and when i read that little remark you made about the beast guy i noticed something.....you didnt say anything about the remark the beast guy said about how sony remakes the same crap over (GTA,jack and daxter, the game with that squirrel and the gun and well you get the point right? oh and by the way.......when ever you get a tantrum from aunt flow AHA!! and you throw your PS3 controller
IT COMES BACK TO YOU AHA!!!!!!!
hey, wii looks cool and i want to get it for its innovative controller and great games. the only thing i dont like so far is that it isnt hd compatible, which would be the icing on the cake for me.
i would get 360, but my friend has it and i can play it all the time. it is a bit expensive, but its price isnt astonishing like the ps3. i never really liked sony, especially since they copied nintendo and microsoft.
and u guys shouldn't call each other gay and stuff like that cuz ur just talking about video game consoles, not each others m
others or girlfriends or important stuff.
besides any of my friends who are real gamers play on pc, anyway, with better graphics and faster processors than ps3.
super smash bros brawl!!!!!! will be soooo cool.
Well, I read the whole thing so i might as well comment.
It's all been said before. When the CEOs of these companies go back to their board rooms their first question is NOT how do I make a good game. Sorry. It's how do I make a profit, not tank my company and return money to my shareholders. Some of these companies have answered the question by saying appeal to gamers first. But, they all answer the question and they all make their money. Sony has been around (not just the Playstation). Microsoft has been around. Nintendo has been around. If I could take pictures with my Nintendo camera and load them into my Nintendo portable to sort through them then view them on my HD Nintendo TV then print them on my Nintendo personal printer on Nintendo Paper So i could tell the story about the photo to my grandfather listening with is Nintendo made Hearing Aid, I might be inclined to say Nintendo messed up with their new console. Nintendo, however, did exactly what was right for them and my share of Nintendo stock will profit even though I will be buying a PS3 because it fits better in the afore mentioned scheme.
uhhhhh.................okay?
yo what side are you on cause you seriously confused me
Wiiiiiiiiva La Revolution!!!
Wiiva La Revolution!!!
