Sidestep Those Annoying Phone Menus

Posted by Eric Butterfield | Wednesday, March 15, 2006 1:20 PM PT

Call your bank, ISP, or credit card company, and you won't be talking to a person. You'll most likely be greeted by a computerized voice. If you want to talk to a living person, good luck. Unless you know the drill, you'll have to wait for the voice or button command--and you know it'll come last in the list of menu options.

Here's a shortcut: http://gethuman.com/us/. This site lists almost 400 companies, and the commands necessary to get a person on the phone. Of course, you'll still have to listen to bad elevator music while you're on hold.

yep interesting move fro USR. I do wonder when Skype will have it's own helpdesk. It seems to be the only "Telephony Company" without having any 1st / 2nd line telephone online for support. Kind of "funny".

How do I agree with you. The questions do not concern only Skype; check 3Web, an Alberta communication Co : things that can easily take five minutes to settle, take at times at leasts half a day to get through! You don't beleive? Check the phone No. they propose : 1 ? 866 ? Get ? 3web; ( 1-866-438-3932)

Good luck.
