PlayStation 3 Delayed Until November?

This sucks. I can't believe they pushed it back. Sony really should becareful with how they go about releasing things. Man

I'm still not buying a Xbox 360!

It was bad enough for Sony that Microsoft got their system out months ahead of time, including for the holiday season. That is hard to fight against. If MS has a year for their Xbox360 to pick up market share before the PS3 is launched, Microsoft has won this battle without question. Too bad it is too late now for Sony to cut their losses and swap in the DVD format and support blu-ray add-ons in the future.

Why is the ps3 better???? The 360 and ps3 contain the same graphics almost to the T , the extra cores mean NOTHING , the cores are used for multiprocessing , like in game A.I. and such , not for gameplay , graphic and gameplay wize they are identical , so n00b , why is the ps3 better than the 360?????

X-Box needs developers that can actually utilize their system, which, last time I checked is only one, the Dead or Alive people. PS3... well I expect that release to be as slow as its loading time... zzz... Seriously, the only one advancing out of the top 3 is Nintendo. And they're not even using a stronger graffix whatever, they just use what they have. Seems smart to me. By the way, I'll get a PS3 over the XBox 360 anyday. 360 is just a nice looking XBox generation 1.

however the ps2 , was HORRIBLE , and the xbox did nearly 7 times what the ps2 did , so to say the ps3 is 5 times better than the xbox origional , yes , so is the 360 ....... graphics and speed yes 733 mhz to what 3.2 ghz roughly ........ ok so both ps3 and 360 are 5 times better than the xbox version 1 , that said back to square one the ps3 and 360 are 12 times better than the ps2 ........ DUH!

I'm glad I got a 360. And its just now getting the best games (Fight Night 3, Burnout, Oblivion). BTW - 360 PGR is better than ANY PS2 racing game.

The real funny thing that noone is mentioning, is this will allow MS to release Halo 3 long before the launch, and games will be in the second generation for the XBox 360 - which means MUCH better than the initial games for the PS3. It usually takes a full year for games to really fullfill the promise of a new platform, and 360 is in the driver's seat for now.

Oh, and don't get me wrong, I'll be buying plenty of PS3s and selling them on ebay for 200% of the sale price :) for at least the first 6 months... hahaha

did anyone stop to consider this a ploy to continue to develop the PS3 past the 360's capabilities? i did & if that isn't what they are doing, it should be

Why is the PS3 better? Ask yourself, why is the PS2 better than the XBOX?

PS2= More game titles than the XBOX could ever muster up. PS2 have more licenses and XBOX had to always play catchup. Ended up having to replicate the same "original" games designed for the PS2. There are countless XBOX titles that have been converted from PS2. All of the XBOX titles are terrible.
So you can see who's the original.

And to the fool who said that PGR3 is better than any PS2 racing game ever...Get your head out of the sand. You're comparing a new generation console with an older one. Of course they don't compare. Of course it looks better. But just wait until the PS3 comes out. You'll regret your 360 purchase.

Sony have a habit of delaying things. We didn't complain about it when the PS2 finally came out did we?

It's funny when Japanese gamers remain downright skeptical about the PS3, US gamers embrace Sony's hypeware/vaporware wholeheartedly. These are some of the issues I always read about on 2ch(they have their own "Usenet" thing) and personal blogs:

1) We're happy with the PS2. Do we need PS3?
2) We're happy with the current DVD format. Do we need Blue-Ray?
3) Sony has a history of releasing glitchy products at launch. Should we wait and see?
4) What kind of games will be available to the PS3? What Sony has shown are prerendered demos otherwise not much different from those on the 360.
5) How much is the system going to cost? $500? How much are Blue-Ray movies going to cost? $50 a pop? Are we all hardcore enthusiasts with cash to burn?
6) Why should we pay extra for a "supercomputer" in a chip when Nintendo's offerings can be equally fun but much cheaper?

It certainly seems they've grown up a lot. Now it's time for us to check our fan-boy attitudes. :)

I dont know how peolpe think the xbox is better than the playstation.Its simply because they have halo.The first thing someone says when you ask them why xbox is so good they say its because of halo. simply put if there was no halo there would be no xbox to this day.PS for life.

that really sucks when they delay it so much, and also that will affect their market sales, of course! in this news, now that every body knows it going to be delayed. not just me that will get pist off. costumers, especially the kids, is sony having to much "pride" to their system? many are really looking forward to this especially this coming spring, even me myself too!

the ps3 has BETTER GRAPHICS(PS3's graphics card is 2x better than 2 7800GTX's!!!...unlike Xbox 360, regular computer graphics -_-), more FASTER(Cell processor) more POWERFUL ram as well as it is much more SMALLER. (The Xbox 360 is almost the same size as an Xbox, just looks more cooler).

PS3 is much cooler so i definately would get a PS3 over a Xbox 360.

Yes, I am Very Disappointed!! I Called at EB Games at Mall Every Monday but I never Heard Nothing at all but I am Still Waiting. I Saw the Internet about PS3 and I found it at about 5:00 a.m. I can't Believe it! Wait until this November. Oh, Well. I will wait. Thanks!!

Doesn't matter. SONY is not going to trash their entire spec list to try to improve it by whatever improvements the market has come up with in 9 months.

I think it's funny how many of the PS fanboys all said the XBOX 1 was TOO BIG to carry to friends houses. I wonder... did you ever try putting it in a backpack? The playstation 2 was only an inch or so thiner then the xbox and we havn't even seen what the PS3 looks like outside of a photograph.

Who knows, maybe they'll be the same size, will you then buy an Xbox?

One thing is for sure, Microsoft WANTS this market, they have the money to lose, Sony does not.

Why can't people admit Sony dropped the ball big time on this. They obviously forgot the failure of the Sega Dreamcast. They grew to confident and lazy, Microsoft completely pulled the rug out from under them. Now they are struggling to push it out, probably cutting corners in quality. Man, this PS3 is a disaster for Sony. I feel (NOT!) for those waiting on the PS3, probably won't realize the full "PS3 experience" until '07. Have fun sony boys, I'll be there waiting online with my 360 when you decide to grow up!

I laugh at these people who are boosting about the PS3's theoretical performance. It isn't even out yet! Better than 2 7800GT's? We'll just have to wait and see, won't we? Personally I doubt that big time. It will be a good console though but I think you will find the actual performance a bit more down to earth when it is finally released. Wait and see people. Probably not a whole lot better than the 360.

Grow up? It's a brand preference, like Windows over Mac, or Gateway over Dell. So don't tell us to "grow up".

Dude, I could care less about any of this. I just want a PS3 because the of the titles that are going to be released for it, like, umm...new Tekken games. Why? Mainly because Tekken is awesome. Also, the odds are, that the titles for the PS3 will be longer in content because of the 50GB blu-ray disks. But XBox 360's are pretty sweet too. Except for the fact that the best game out for it so far has been Geometry Wars. Which is totally sweet.

beside it's SONY, i'm sure the customers will be sastisfied with their products. Also, my ps2 will last for another 5 years! it's over 5 years old now but still got a lot of power in it.

I just bought three new rpg games, so it'll keep me busy until then.

In 5 years, a PS2 will be about as powerful as a Commodore 64, comparitevly.....

lol, funny, sad truth is all developers build games on pc's , and pc's always have better graphics. Never Wanted a Ps2, never looked twice at a 360, with 2 7800 gtx's, 2 gb's of ram, and a Dual Core P4 955, i would take on the ps3 anyday. Pc's are just better, come on, you think games like Fear or original Far Cry will ever make it to console

Um....get it over with and buy a 360. The best online gaming you will see. PS3 - smoke and mirrors as always.... I think Sony should create a new game called "White Elephant" and release it as their marquee launch title.

No surprise! Just remember if it is going to come out it will be in Japan first! They will at least make the American market wait at least 6 months later for it! You will not see it until mid 2007 at the earliest! Sony too concerned with the PSP! I'm sure they are not worried! LOL!

About an above comment, yeah PC's do have better graphics......if you want to spend $4,000 for it. I don't see why you would do that when I get a 360 is just about as good for $400.....plus not having to deal with software issues, a million patches, and a crap on-line environment.

I bought the xox 360 months before launch because I knew the ps3 would be delayed. What I didn't know was that the 360 would suck so much dikc at first. the games are starting to get a little better but I think the ps3 will hit the ground running. I felt robbed the first time I played maden 360. it was defintiely a step backwards from ps2's version

I dunno if anyone said this already, but: I bet that Bill Gates is whooping for joy. Yes because he will have more undisputed time in the next gen console market, but also because Halo 3 was not ready to come out until this fall and now Gates get to keep his promise that Halo 3 will come out on the day that the PS3 comes out.

As far as I'm concerned about disappointment, I dont give a crap about consoles until they make a mouse and keyboard controller for the consoles or they sell the console OS for PCs.

First of all, the Xbox 360 had a bad start with the rumours of crashes going around. Of course, it could've just been something to say "oh the 360 is so good it crashes itself! im going to buy one!" but truth be told they didn't have a great start. In my opinion, they'd sold many more if they could've introduced Halo 3 as a launch title, but hey why not just rush it out into stores before it's ready? That won't affect anything *roll eyes* The Playstation system was never really that amazing anyway. I'm not one to say that Nintendo had the best graphics because since the Playstation was released, it hasn't seen the top of that list. I didn't say that IGN was microsoft...u misinterpret what i wrote. i said that the data provided was by MS, i never said anything about basing what i said on its website's name (xbox360.ign.com)...i HAVE been on ign's websites before.

with the blu-ray discs, they are better than dvds because they hold around 50gb of storage instead of 4.7GB single layered disc. taht means that companies who put movies onto dvd can put more extra features, game designer puting more detail,features and maybe increase a games length.
