Like HP, Samsung has 1080p DLP sets, but only the ones it announced the Consumer Electronics Show in January (though these TVs only began shipping in June and July).
No, Samsung put its
CEDIA effort into pitching tube TVs--yes, that's right--the same technology that wowed your grandfather when it first appeared in the early part of the last century.
Truth be told, nearly every vendor (at least, the ones who still sell CRTs) say a tube provides a better picture than any other TV type, but that's like telling an SUV driver that two seats and three wheels is plenty.
But Samsung's SlimFit models (one shown above)are two-thirds the depth of a conventional flat-screen CRT. In fact, a 32-inch-wide LCD TV, says the company, measures 13 inches in depth, while its new 30-inch SlimFit measures 16 inches in depth (but it still weighs 121 pounds). However, it costs only $1000.
What do you think about hefty TVs?
work around E: all of the above , tube is far superior to all others . However , in the larger panels wieght becomes an unavoidable factor , as a 50" tube would require a small forklift to move.
