Girl With a (Blue)Pearl Earbud

bluepearls.jpgThis year has seen a considerable surge in the number of CE products aimed at women, though I'm always a little concerned that many of these products' marketing efforts seem to be along the lines of "It's for women because it looks nicer." What, men can't accessorize?

Anyway, today saw the release of ProfitWing's BluePearls Bluetooth headsets, which are "designed for the active woman who depends on technology and complete mobility." The seven stylish headsets, weighing a mere 7.9 grams and featuring a talk time of 18 hours, come with interchangeable face plates in pearl silver, textured black, denim, pink, zebra, cheetah, orange, green swirl and camouflage.

I agree with you Emru: Why should this device be unfit for men?

The only wories I have is that normal earbuds drop out of my ears quite easily, and there is nothing in the presentation that shows me how this headset "plugs" into ones ear (and is it only fit for the left ear?). Where earbuds mostly are connected to a player or radio, this headset, when dropping out of an ear, can be lost forever. At a price of some $ 80 an expensive mishap.

The BluePearls FAQ on their Web page says that the headsets come with three back pieces to fit different ear sizes.

Hello Emru

Thank you for your note. The BluePearls really are designed for women , the ear buds come in three sized we have found that men tend to have hair in the their ears , women can actually use the ear buds because there is more contact with the skin within the ear area. Also due to the light weight we are just light enough to make the usage comfortable within the ear.

We are in the design phase of a removeable ear hook , as some peopkle just require this.

We'll be happy to assist you in any way.
