Toshiba Releases First HD DVD Player in Japan

While Toshiba has held off on launching its first HD DVD player in North America until someone can actually get some HD DVD movies out, Toshiba in Japan has no such problem. Digital World Tokyo reports that today Toshiba dropped the HD-XA1.

Until April 27, the player will come with two movies, Moonlight Jellyfish and Resident Evil. One presumes more HD DVD movies will be out by then, both here and in Japan.
