Popular blogging community LiveJournal has launched a beta customize area that has made personalizing your LiveJournal easier then ever. The new customization settings are not only ascetically pleasing but also easier to use. S2 includes thumbnail previews of potential layouts along with an additional 600+ new themes to choose from. They have also upgraded tags and choice of ad placement. Basic LiveJournal accounts do not contain ads. Only an expansion of features and options in the plus packages contain advertisement. Another revised feature is the user friendly wizard for journal override options. Also note that you can use CSS to create your own theme. S2 or System 2 replaces S1 which is no longer supported.
While your LiveJournal gets a new look so does their mascot Frank the goat in LiveJournal?s first ever photo contest. ?Where?s Frank?? consists of printing out a PDF of Frank and unleashing your creativity using non-digital tools such as pens pencils crayons (remember those?) whatever your imagination calls for. You also need to take a picture of your personally designed Frank in a background of your choice and post him in the lj_photocontest community. The more creative the better because they are judging on 3 areas content, originality and style. The grand prize and runner ups get Amazon.com gift certificates. Contest ends on November 16th 2007 see the LiveJournal community for more information.
